Utah is just full of natural attractions, from our natural arches to our alpine lakes. It could easily take you decades to explore all of them. Here are just 10 of our favorites to get you started. For each one, we’ve already written a feature article, so we’ve provided links for you that have more photos and information.
- Goblin Valley and Goblin’s Lair
mg44berlin/Tripadvisor The strange and unique “goblins” at Goblin Valley State Park will make you feel as though you’re on another planet. Hike through the valley to Goblin’s Lair - a cool cavern that most visitors don’t get to see. Click here to read our article.
- Snow Canyon
Total Mayhem/flickr While our national parks are certainly stunning, here’s a little state park that deserves just as much love. The rock formations here are similar to Bryce, and the dark, red sandstone reminds you of Zion…but you’ll find the crowds to be much smaller here. Click here to read our article.
- Mirror Lake
tweety874/Tripadvisor We recently created a road trip that takes you along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, where you’ll find several lakes right along the highway. The crown jewel? Mirror Lake, of course. Its waters are often calm and smooth, giving it that mirror-like appearance that’s so famous. Click here to read our article.
- Little Wild Horse Canyon
jadwin79/Tripadvisor Utah is just brimming with slot canyons, but many require technical skills like rappelling, and they’re often in some pretty remote spots. Little Wild Horse Canyon is great “beginner” slot canyon - even kids enjoy it. Click here to read our article.
- Wind Cave
Charles D./Tripadvisor The hike to Logan’s Wind Cave is fun for the whole family, though you’ll want to bring plenty of sunscreen and water. The cave is located up Logan Canyon, and requires a 3.5-mile roundtrip hike. The views from the top are well worth your effort. Click here to read our article.
- Bryce Canyon National Park
Todd Petrie/flickr There’s just nothing in the world that compares with Bryce Canyon National Park. The colorful hoodoos that fill the amphitheater are simply stunning set against the bright blue of the sky and the sweeping landscape where you can see for miles. Click here to read our article.
- Angel’s Landing
steffo photography/flickr Pretty much all of Zion National Park can go on this list, but Angel’s Landing in particular is an incredible natural wonder. The hike isn’t for everyone, but for those who brave it, the view is majestic. Click here to read our article.
- Brighton Lakes
summitcheese/flickr The Brighton Lakes - Mary, Martha and Catherine are three azure gems tucked away above Brighton Ski Resort. You’ll also want to take a little side trip to Dog Lake. Click here to read our article.
- Golden Cathedral
John Fowler/flickr You’ll find Golden Cathedral in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. It’s fairly remote, so you’ll likely find some peace and quiet once you complete the nearly five-mile hike to reach it. Click here to read our article.
- Landscape Arch
brittanyaih/Tripadvisor Landscape Arch is just one of the many arches at Arches National Park in Moab, but it has the distinction of being the largest natural arch in the entire world. You’ll reach it with a quick, easy hike. Click here to read our article.
