Pretty much every town in Utah can be a great place to live, depending on what you’re looking for. Some towns are more affordable than others, however. For this list, I’ve relied on Movoto.com . That site picked towns that offer low housing, food and utility costs, along with a low unemployment rate and inexpensive entertainment options.
- American Fork
Don LaVange/flickr American Fork ranks first on the list. The town has just under 25,000 residents, plenty of nearby recreation in American Fork Canyon and is close enough to larger metropolitan areas that there are lots of employment options.
- Payson
Ken Lund/flickr With an unemployment rate of only 5.4% and the second lowest priced housing, Payson comes in second on our list. In addition, residents will find plenty of free or low-cost festivals to keep them busy year-round.
- Eagle Mountain

- Spanish Fork

- Springville
Ken Lund/flickr Springville offers its residents a variety of experiences. From outdoor recreation to cultural offerings (they call it “Art City”), there are lots of low-cost and free things to do in this little town.
- Lehi
Jimmy Emerson, DVM/flickr Lehi has just over 30,000 residents. It’s close enough to the SLC metropolitan area to commute, yet far enough away to keep housing costs low.
- Cedar Hills
Cedar Hills Cedar Hills is a small town (just over 10,000 residents), but 94.6 percent of residents are employed, and have high salaries (the average adjusted income is $98,438 - one of the highest in the state). Housing prices are comparatively low; you can still purchase a 2,800-square-foot home there for less than $300,000.
- Pleasant Grove

- Saratoga Springs

- Clinton
Ntsimp via Commons Clinton, in Davis County, finishes off our top 10 list. It boasts affordable housing and has high employment, but still maintains a rural feel.
