If you’ve never had a rooftop dining experience, then here’s the perfect list for you to add a little spark to your next meal. Foodies know it’s all about the menu, but I think the right view will make the food taste that much better. If you’re planning a date night or a girls/guys night soon, these would be perfect!
- Goodfellas (New Haven)
Goodfellas Restaurant/Facebook This old school dive Italian is reminiscent of mobster days with its classic Italian menu and low lighting. But their newly added sky deck will let you escape to the roof for a fresh air experience. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful flowers and blue skies.
- Rooftop 120 (Glastonbury)
Wendy L./Yelp Credited with having some of the most unique drinks in town, Rooftop 120 is famous for having a good time and providing an awesome rooftop lounge. The menu also includes fried oreos, which is amazing.
- The Elbow Room (West Hartford)
The Elbow Room and Tap Room/Facebook This self proclaimed “American joint” prides itself on having 50 beers on tap and a really juicy burger. Located off Farmington Ave, you’re right in the middle of shopping territory. This would make a great lunch break on a sunny day!
- Ecco Rooftop Eatery & Bar (Bethel)
ECCO rooftop eatery and bar at La Zingara/Facebook This spot is located upstairs above the restaurant La Zingara. Because it’s enclosed you can enjoy this place even on windy spring afternoons without giving up on the open vibes and sky view.
- John Davenport’s Top of the Park (New Haven)
John Davenport’s/TripAdvisor Enjoy a jaw dropping view of the historic Yale University campus and New Haven city while enjoying a superb meal and an assortment of wine. This place will make you feel like royalty.
- Bobby Q’s Bodacious BBQ & Grill (Westport)
Bobby Q’s Bodacious BBQ & Grill/Facebook Bobby Q’s has been around for a while, but their Rooftop Beer Garden just opened last summer. It’s all the amazing pull pork and corn that locals have come to love, but outside! So now it’s a real barbecue.
- East Side Restaurant (New Britain)
AllyFlorida/TripAdvisor This place also has a beer garden, except much more German. The food is delicious, but it’s out shined by the incredible beer selection and fun loving atmosphere. If you go here you might end up singing songs with strangers.
- Sign of the Whale (Stamford)
Raj D./Yelp This rooftop venue decided being outside shouldn’t mean no cool lights and flat screens. The menu features some wonderful seafood options and room to dance if you get the urge.
- Pig’s Eye Pub (Hartford)
Pigs Eye Pub/Facebook This dive bar features pool tables, darts, and giant jenga. The only time you’ll be able to snag food is during happy hour, but it’s free! This is a Friday after work favorite for some free food, great beer, and games that will put you back in college.
- Millwright’s (Simsbury)
Dan R./Yelp This is technically not a rooftop, but since this whole place is elevated, eating on the roof would really be overkill. Grab a table here and enjoy a view of the river and waterfall. This could easily make for a romantic outing.
Did I miss any killer rooftop dining spots? I’d love to know where you go to catch a good view with dinner!
