They say that who you marry is your biggest career decision and it’s true. There is no more important decision you can make in life than who to spend it with. To a large extent, who you marry determines how successful and how happy you are in life.

Maybe I’m biased, but I think everyone should marry a West Virginian. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. We have some beautiful wedding venues here.

Modern Flash Photography/Facebook If you have to get married in the place where your fiancé grew up, you’re in luck. There are some beautiful spots, like Adventures on the Gorge in Fayetteville (shown here).

  1. Family is so important here.

  1. Your spouse will probably make you pepperoni rolls.

Haem85 Lucky you. These are delicious.

  1. We’re the most faithful state.

Irina Patrascu/Flickr According to Business Insider, West Virginians are the least likely of all the states to cheat on their spouses. That was determined by looking at the number of users from WV on the website “Ashley Madison,” which connects people who are looking to have an affair. (WV definitely wasn’t last on that list because it doesn’t have as much access to the internet. Nope, that definitely wasn’t why).

  1. We may be chubby but you’ll look sooo skinny standing beside us.

Tony Alter/Flickr There are good sides to marrying someone from a state with high obesity rates. Imagine how good you’ll look in comparison. (I am kidding, of course. Many of us are in great shape.)

  1. When you visit the in-laws, there are great views to be seen.

Jimmy Emerson, DVM West Virginia is a beautiful place to spend holidays and family visits. Or maybe you’ll get lucky and get to live here in West Virginia. How great would that be?

  1. We’re very outdoorsy.

Jason Means/Flickr Many of us like fishing, fishing, hiking and other activities outside . And that’s attractive, admit it.

  1. West Virginia accents are the cutest ones.

State seal of West Virginia If you have to listen to one person talk for the rest of your life, make it someone with a great accent like ours.

  1. West Virginians are more likely to be pet people. And pet people are good people.

Ida Myrvold/Flickr According to a 2013 survey, West Virginia is among the top 10 states for pet ownership in the United States. In West Virginia, 62.1 percent of people are pet owners. And more people own dogs here: 45.8 own canines, as opposed to 38.1 percent who own cats. If we’re dog people, you know we’re good people.

  1. We’re adventurous.
