Sure, Mississippi does embody all the charm and grace of the South. But sometimes, people in the rest of the country have a few misconceptions about what we’re really like. We’d like to set the record straight here.
- We don’t all live on farms in the country.

- We’re pretty cultured here.
USA International Ballet Competition/Facebook Mississippi is the home of the USA International Ballet Competition. If that’s not culture, we don’t know what is!
- Mississippians love all forms of entertainment, but most importantly, we brought the rest of the country Kermit the Frog.

D’Lo Mississippi/Facebook During World War II, 150 residents in the small town of D’Lo voluntarily enlisted - 35% of the town’s population! That was the highest percentage of residents enlisting of any town in the entire United States.
