There are so many amazing things about Utah that it’s easy to take some of them for granted. Here’s a reminder of just a few of the wonderful things about our state that we Utahns really can’t live without.
- Mountains
Ted & Dani Percival/flickr Utahns are so accustomed to being surrounded by magnificent mountains, that when we travel elsewhere, we feel a little lost.
- Inexpensive Cultural Arts
Hale Center Theater/Facebook Want to go see a high-quality musical or theatrical production? Check the calendar - you’re sure to find plenty to choose from, and at prices you can afford. Utahns don’t need to pay $200 per seat to see a fabulous play or musical!
- Sweeping Vistas
Fred Moore/flickr We have some amazing views in Utah. It’s good to stop and check them out every so often; it makes you realize how beautiful our state is, and how vast.
- Great Neighbors
Gordon/flickr How would you survive without your neighbors? They shovel your walk when you have the flu, give your kids a ride home from school when you’re running late, and help create that feel of community that’s so important.
- Low Humidity
Glenn Malone/flickr It does get really hot in Utah during summer months, but we don’t have that humidity that people in other states have to deal with.
- Real Salt Lake
Catherine Rees Not everyone in Utah is a soccer fan, but those who are can’t live without Real. And, if you’ve ever met one of the players in person, you’ve likely found that they’re some of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
- Solitude
Chris Bailey/flickr Utah is such a large state, with so much protected wilderness and recreational areas, that’s it’s easy to get away from the crowd for awhile and enjoy some peace and quiet alone.
- Outdoor Recreation
Brendan Campbell/flickr How could we live without hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, boating, picnicking, camping, etc? It seems impossible that people in other parts of the country go without such opportunities.
- Motorized Recreation
Quinn Dombrowski/flickr Many Utahns just can’t live without their ATVs, boats, jet skis and snowmobiles and there are plenty of places to enjoy them.
- Delicious Utah Food
Wally Gobetz/flickr We have some tasty local food. Fry sauce, funeral potatoes, our version of “scones.” Some people even like green jello! In addition, we have some amazing local Utah restaurants.
- Utah Snow
Craig/flickr Many Utahns love to play in the snow, but even those who abhor the powdery stuff can’t live without it. We’d be hard-pressed for water next summer without our Utah snow pack!
