Queen City. Nickel City. City of Good Neighbors. While there are many names for our beloved city, there is one thing that everyone can agree on: Buffalo grabs ahold of your heart strings and never lets go. If you should decide to leave Buffalo for new frontiers, be warned. There are several things you will miss about this place when you leave.
- The food
Shawn Vanpatten - Facebook Wings, pizza, Lloyd tacos, Paulas donuts, Sahlens hot dogs, Loganberry, sponge candy, the list goes on and on. Nobody knows food quite like Buffalo. In fact, it’s one of the things you’ll miss the most about Buffalo when you leave.
- The nightlife
Sky Bar - Facebook 2AM last calls are such a buzz-kill. 4AM seems much more reasonable to Buffalonians!
- The tailgates
Bills Mafia - Facebook Finish this sentence: “The Bills make me wanna _____!” Every Buffalo Bills fan knows that no one tailgates as hard as the Bills Mafia. Other cities’ football teams just don’t do it like we do.
- The game nights
Buffalo Sabres Fanpage - Facebook There’s something about the vibe downtown during a game night. Whether it’s the Sabres, Bandits, Bisons, or watching the Bills from your favorite sports bars’ TV screens, downtown on a game night is one thing you’ll definitely miss when you leave Buffalo.
- The summer concerts
Canalside Buffalo - Facebook Whether you’re catching a cheap show at Canalside or taking the trek out to Darien Lake, Buffalo’s summer concerts are better than most.
- The seasons
Richardson Olmsted Campus - Facebook We’re fortunate to be able to experience the beauty of all four seasons in Buffalo. No matter which one is your favorite, you’ll definitely miss feeling the crunching leaves under your feet or the way the city looks after a fresh spring rain.
- Even the winters
rok-shaw (reflect first) - Flickr Believe it or not, some people actually do miss Buffalo winters when they leave. You have to admit… there is something magical about the first snowfall of the season!
- The coffee
Public Espresso + Coffee - Facebook Whether you’re grabbing a quick cup of joe from the drive-through at Tim Hortons or sitting and staying for a while at one of Buffalo’s many cafes, our coffee culture is seriously impressive.
- The grocery stores
Wegmans - Facebook Luckily for the rest of America, Wegmans is starting to expand to more markets. But nothing beats the originals in Western New York!
- Did we mention the food?
Aro Bar de Tapas - Facebook The restaurant scene in Buffalo is booming, and there are so many options for date night or grabbing a bite for lunch that it’s impossible NOT to miss it when you leave.
- The people
Nick Quaranto - Flickr …even those of the shark variety. Buffalonians are some of the best people you will ever meet. There’s a reason they call us the City of Good Neighbors, after all.
