Pizza may not have originated in America, but it’s definitely a national treasure. And as our local pizzerias perfect their pizza recipes, the general consensus is that the best pies seem to be wood-fired. This means the pizza was cooked in a wood-fired oven, which is actually an ancient method of food preparation that is not only considered healthier (since it helps retain nutrients) but better for the environment (a wood oven does not require any electricity or gas to operate).
