Whether you are dining at a fancy Italian bistro or simply grabbing a slice from the pizzeria down the street, everyone loves a good slice of pizza. Hawaii isn’t necessarily known for their delicious Italian food, but luckily for us, there are still a few excellent pizzerias across the islands to satisfy that ever-present pizza craving.

  1. JJ Dolan’s, Honolulu

JJ Dolan’s/Facebook This Honolulu Irish pub and pizzeria is the only local shop that made Pizza Today’s Top 100 list. Gross sales in 2014 reached $2.4 million.

  1. Big Island Pizza, Kailua-Kona

Grace M./Yelp

Christina N./Yelp Yelp reviews tout this pizzeria’s amazing thin crust, as well as excellent flavor combinations and fresh ingredients.

  1. Flatbread Company, Paia

Camille L./Yelp

Dave R./Yelp Featuring locally sourced, organic ingredients, Flatbread Company serves up delicious made-to-order flatbread pizzas baked in a wood fire oven.

  1. Boston’s North End Pizza Bakery, Aiea

Boston’s Aiea

Damon A./Yelp Now this one is a personal preference, but Boston’s does pizza by the slice, delicious and cheap. The perfect place to stop while out running errands when you don’t really want fast food, but you also don’t want to spend a lot of money.

  1. Kilauea Bakery & Pau Hana Pizza, Kilauea

Andrew N./Yelp

Rachel H./Yelp Because this little shop makes their own meats, the prices can be a little steep. However, it’s totally worth the price tag when you sink your teeth into that first delicious bite.

  1. Big Kahuna’s Pizza, Honolulu

Fran C./Yelp

Fran C./Yelp This little pizzeria located next to the airport is known for their garlic cheesy balls, a perfect appetizer to enjoy while waiting for your pizza. Also cool is the fact that any pizza can be ordered as a sub sandwich. Be warned though – they can get incredibly busy, so be sure to call in that order way in advance.

  1. Giannotto’s Pizza, Wailuku

Teresa B./Yelp Authentic New Jersey pizza in Hawaii? Yep, the owner of this little joint is actually from NJ, and you can definitely tell.

  1. Café Pesto, Hilo

Annette Y./Yelp Though this shop features a variety of entrees, their pizza is marvelous, with several unique options – like chili shrimp pizza. They also have a location in Waimea, if you’re in the area.

  1. Amina Pizzeria, Honolulu

Faruk B./Yelp

Christine E./Yelp This hole-in-the-wall establishment serves up fresh, made to order pizza, calzones, lasagna, and pasta.

  1. Nikki’s Pizza, Lahaina

Pete C./Yelp

Monico P./Yelp After a long day at the beach, sometimes all you need is a good, cheap, mouth-watering slice of pizza. Nikki’s definitely delivers on the front. The apparently have a pretty great breakfast menu, too.

  1. Pizzetta, Koloa

Emily T./Yelp

Nick C./ Yelp From gluten-free pizza options, to pasta, a gelato bar, and delicious drinks, Pizzetta has got it all. The BBQ chicken pizza, pictured above, comes with a scrumptious papaya barbeque sauce… Yum!

  1. The Lovin Oven

Mary L./Yelp Located within the Bamboo Hotel is this small pizzeria with a plethora of vegetarian options, and excellent Yelp reviews.

Which of these pizza places is your favorite? Are there any others you would add to this list?
