Ahh, the crisp, fresh fall Nebraska air is finally moving in. Unfortunately for parts of the state, it’s bringing some nasty weather along with it. But that doesn’t quell our excitement for autumn. To usher in the season, let’s take a look at 12 of the things we’ll all do this fall.

  1. Cheer on the Huskers.

  1. Eat some delicious apple goodies.

  1. Visit a haunted house or two.

  1. Decorate the yard for Halloween.

flickr/Maggie not Margaret Even if it’s just a pumpkin or two, decorating for fall is always fun. But it’s even more fun if you go all-out with the decorations!

  1. Step out to enjoy the lovely foliage.

  1. Go hunting…or at least listen to some hunting stories.

  1. Eat a variety of pumpkin treats.

  1. Take a trip to a pumpkin patch.

  1. Cuddle up with a scary movie.

flickr/dogberryjr In the days leading up to Halloween, watching scary movies is on just about everyone’s to-do list.

  1. Break the sweaters, coats, scarves, and gloves out of storage.

  1. Rake…and rake…and rake…

  1. Shudder just a little because we know winter’s not far behind.

flickr/Denise Krebs As awesome as fall is in Nebraska, it’s never long enough. Soon we’ll be breaking out the snow shovels. But for now, enjoy that pumpkin spice latte.

Sure, these things are done in other states, too, but we think they (and most other things in life) are best experienced in Nebraska. What other activities are part of your autumn every year?
