Wyomingites are a breed all of our own, and we do things a little differently than many folks in the rest of the country. We might be a tad bit different (I prefer to think we’re unique), but we know how to excel at the things that matter in our lives. We hate to brag, but we’re pretty much the best at these 12 things, hands down.
- Enjoying nature.
notnyt/flickr You wont’ find us lazing around on the couch here - we’re surrounded by natural beauty, and we love to get out in it and play!
- Hitting the bulls-eye.
Mookie Forcella/flickr We learn to handle firearms at a young age, so we’re pretty darn accurate.
- Wyomingites rule the rodeo.
Manny Moss/flickr We pretty much grow up on horses, so racing around an arena on them (or trying to stay on a bucking bronco!) is pretty much second nature to us.
- Fishing for our dinner.
Ranch Seeker/flickr We have the best fishing in the country right here in Wyoming, and there’s nothing like fresh trout for dinner.
- Being prepared.
State Farm/flickr Wyomingites know that bad weather or emergencies of any kind can happen in an instant. That’s why you’ll always find an emergency kit in our trunk and plenty of food storage and a generator at our house.
- Working hard.
Bureau of Land Management/flickr People from Wyoming know how to work - no slackers here!
- Protecting the two most beautiful places in the country.
Jerry and Pat Donaho/flickr Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks are easily the most gorgeous parks in the whole country, and Wyomingites are excellent stewards of these public lands.
- Driving in the snow.
Powhusku/flickr We’ve got the vehicles to tackle just about any road condition - a little snow doesn’t scare us.
- Wyomingites are the best at hunting.
m01229/flickr We know how to bag a buck, pronghorn, pheasant, duck and pretty much anything that’s legal to hunt.
- Preserving our kill.
Kent Landerholm/flickr Once we shoot it, we eat it! The meat that doesn’t go in the freezer turns into the best darn jerky you’ve ever eaten in your life.
- Riding horses.
Bureau of Land Management/flickr We use our horses for work, hunting, and recreation. We can’t imagine life without them.
- Being friendly.
Ranch Seeker/flickr Wyomingites are pretty much the nicest folks you’ll ever meet.
