In my opinion, September and October are the two best months of the year in the Beehive State. The temperature is cool (but not yet freezing cold), and the air is crisp and clean. This fall, explore some of Utah’s many communities at fall festivals all over the state. This list is by no means comprehensive, but includes 12 festivals that offer tasty food, entertainment and vendors that will make your fall weekends a lot more fun. These festivals are listed by date.
- Oktoberfest, Snowbird
Snowbird/Facebook The 43rd annual Oktoberfest is held at Snowbird Resort every weekend between now and October 9th. You’ll find tons of delicious German food, entertainment, and of course, beer. The festival is held every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m.
- Green River Melon Days
Green River Melon Days/Facebook Everyone in Utah know that Green River produces some of the best watermelon in the world. Join the festival on September 16th and 17th for a parade, car show, pancake breakfast, square dancing, trap shoot, softball tournament and more.
- Escalante Canyons Art Festival - Everett Reuss Days, Escalante
Escalante Canyons Art Festival/Facebook This year marks the 13th year for the Escalante Canyons Art Festival. It runs from September 16th through the 24th and includes tons of events, including the Plein Air painting competition, workshops, exhibits, live music and more.
- Festa Italiana, Salt Lake City

- Urban Arts Festival, Salt Lake City
Urban Arts Festival/Facebook Stop by the Gallivan Arts Center on September 17th from noon to 10:00 p.m. and September 18th from noon to 6:00 pm. to meet amazing Utah artists, performers and musicians.
- Fall Fest In The Park, Parowan

- New Harmony Apple Festival

- Pumpkin Walk, Benson Grist Mill
Benson Grist Mill/Facebook Take the kids to Benson Grist Mill in Stansbury Park for the Pumpkin Walk, which includes food vendors, arts and crafts, games and pumpkin displays. Held October 21st and 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..
- Harvest Festival, Wellsville
American West Heritage Center This living history festival is a great way to discover Utah’s history and have fun at the same time. Learn how to press cider, make candles and shell corn. The festival also offers a corn maze, cowboy music and Haunted Hollow. October 21st and 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..
- Livestock and Heritage Festival, Cedar City
Livestock and Heritage Festival/Facebook Head to Cedar City October 28th and 29th for the Livestock and Heritage Festival. The festival kicks off with the sheep parade, and also includes the sheep wagon show, Dutch oven cooking contest, vintage car show, tractor show, craft vendors, food and much more! Hours on Friday are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
