One of the many side effects of being a resident of New York, is that our beautiful surroundings are constantly stealing our breath away from us. Often times the best and most surreal places we find are ones we’ve stumbled upon by accident, but sometimes we need a little push in the right direction. With summer just moments away and our beautiful state filling up with green again, now’s the time to add a few more places to your tranquil getaway list. Check out these 13 places in our state that you thought would only exist in your imagination:
- Montauk Point, Long Island

Overall a photo-taking paradise, the Montauk Point Lighthouse is especially a place that will win your heart over.
- Bannerman Castle, Pollepel Island

- Eternal Flame Falls, Orchard Park

Towards the bottom of this waterfall as you can see pictured above, there is an area that emits natural gas and can be lit to hold a small flame! Extraordinary, huh?
- King’s Garden at Fort Ticonderoga, Ticonderoga

While all of the gardens within our state are something that should be apart of your summer bucket list, this unique setting of this particular one is what makes it so unforgettable. - Ausable Chasm, Keeseville
