With elections coming up and internal tensions mounting, once in a while it’s important to think about the things we can all agree on, like the love for our country. Minnesota is a wonderful place to revel in patriotic spirit, and unfortunately, we need to prove it. We were ranked among the lowest in several lists that sought to rank states in order of patriotism last year. But we don’t buy that for a minute. Minnesotans have a bursting amount of state pride, but above all, we love our country and historically have done everything we can to show it. Not only do we celebrate the 4th of July like no other, but for all these other reasons we are undoubtably the MOST patriotic state in the nation, despite what any online ranking says!

  1. We consistently have the highest rate of voter turnout.

Even the kids are encouraging it!

  1. Speaking of the kids, we know they’re the future of our country and value them and their education, which is why we were first to give them their own library section.

  1. We display flags proudly, everywhere.

  1. We support our active troops and veterans.

  1. And honor those who gave their lives for our country.

  1. Speaking of giving their lives, it was the great sacrifices of the First Minnesota Infantry that won the battle at Gettysburg and was a major turning point for the Civil War. The MN infantry had the highest casualty rate of any unit in the Civil War.

  1. We keep America healthy.

  1. Minnesota’s companies make all the foods Americans love.

  1. And we were the birthplace of many a cultural icon.

  1. You can also thank Minnesota’s companies for all those handy inventions you use multiple times a day.

  1. Mall of AMERICA. Need we say more?

  1. Minnesotans aren’t afraid to speak their minds and stand up for what they believe in.

Flickr/Fibonacci Blue Even if we don’t agree, at least we get involved, and at the end of the day we all want the same things. To enjoy peace and freedom in the world, and in the nation we call our home.

Clearly, MN has America’s best interests in our hearts and minds and we put a lot of effort into helping the citizens of this nation. Share this article to show the rest of the country that MN doesn’t just match, but actually tops the rest for patriotic spirit!
