Guys, summer feels SO CLOSE. If you’re like me, you’re digging out the boxes of summer clothes from the basement and making plans for making the most of this summer. But isn’t this a promise we make to ourselves every year? Let’s make this summer in Wisconsin unforgettable by doing ALL (and I do mean ALL) of these 15 unforgettable things.
- Kayak through the sea caves at the Apostle Islands.

- Go to a drive-in movie theater.
Skyway Drive In/Facebook Sadly, these places are disappearing. While some are still around, bring the kiddos, put a mattress in the back of the truck, and check out some movies.
- Eat things on a stick at the Wisconsin State Fair.

- Decide for yourself who makes the best frozen custard in Wisconsin.
charlie vinz/Flickr This is an incredibly important thing to know. Kopp’s? Leon’s? Zesty’s? What’s your favorite?
- Rock out at Summerfest.
bloomsberries/Flickr Did you know that the world’s largest music fest happens right here in Milwaukee? Brave the crowds and go this year.
- Get out on the water at Quarry Beach.
Quarry Beach/Facebook Honestly, this has to be the most amazing thing ever. Let’s all meet up.
- Explore shipwrecks like never before.
Shipwreck Adventures/Facebook Unfortunately, many ships have wrecked in our waters over the years. But you can tour them by scuba diving. Really, you have to see it to believe it.
- Finally get out and explore Circus World.
Mark Anderson/Flickr There is so much incredible Ringling Brothers history here. You will really be amazed by how many historic pieces have been preserved.
- Dine on a rooftop.

- Tour a brewery.

- Take someone out to the ball game.
Barrel Man Sammy/Flickr Whether it’s the big leagues or the minor leagues, eat some peanuts, drink some beer, and watch some baseball.
- Go for a walk along a Wisconsin beach.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources/Flickr In fact, Wisconsin has several beaches that have been deemed “ocean like.” You don’t need to go to Florida to enjoy the beach.
- Pick fresh strawberries.
David Berkowitz/Flickr Have you ever tasted a strawberry off the bush, one that has been warmed by the sun? They taste a whole lot different than they do by the time the grocery store gets them.
- Get out and explore Wisconsin’s natural beauty.
chumlee10/Flickr Whether it’s state parks, nature preserves, or waterfalls, get your hiking shoes on and explore.
- Drive out to the country, park your car, and look up at the stars.
House of Geekdom/Flickr The best summer memories cost nothing and are spent just hanging out with people you love. Look up at the stars and take it all in.
