There are just some things that are impossible to explain. Maybe a horrific crime, a mysterious disappearance or perplexing oddity that has you shaking your head. Oregon has no shortage of such phenomena and here are six truly mind-boggling examples.
- Jeremy Bright
http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Jeremy_Bright On August 14th, 1986, this 14-year old boy told his mother he was going to the Coos County Fair in Myrtle Point. And then he vanished forever. There are multiple thoughts as to what happened to Jeremy, including being used as rifle target practice as he swam in the local lake. Mysteriously, many of the people who would’ve known more about Jeremy’s death have died - sometimes even in freak accidents - since then. More info here.
- Mike Francke

To this day, the man charged maintains his innocence and no one knows for sure what happened. More info here.
- Nova Guthrie & Craig Pritchert
http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Craig_Pritchert_and_Nova_Guthrie These seemingly sweet lovebirds were Oregon’s version of Bonnie and Clyde who managed to swipe over half a million bucks over four years. They were finally captured in 2003 and are serving time in prison. More info here.
- Bigfoot

- Ted Bundy

Especially because he terrorized the Pacific Northwest throughout the mid ’70s. It’s still not known to this day just how many people Bundy killed… but it could be as many as 100.
- Norman The Dog

Licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 via Wikimedia Commons OK, so this one is just adorable, yet no less perplexing. A yellow Labrador named Norman dove into the Necanicum River to save 15 year old Lisa Nibley from drowning. That part is amazing enough, but the truly shocking part? Norman is BLIND. His owner, Annette McDonald, told the little girl to yell for Norman because “he’ll save you!” And he did….because dogs are awesome.
Number 1 was heart-warming. The rest, no so much. Tell us, which unsolved mysteries have kept you up at night?
