The Lost River is a river that seemingly disappears for 23 miles and then pops back up in Orangeville. However, the river doesn’t really disappear – it just goes underground, which is really awesome. This river has been dubbed a National Natural Landmark for two different reasons: 1) the way the river sinks into the limestone and seemingly disappears for miles is remarkable and 2) the underground river system is distinctly unique.
