  1. Elitch Gardens and Theme Park

Flickr/Amy Aletheia Cahill The water park at Elitch Gardens in downtown Denver is probably the most well-known water park in the city. With entry to the theme park, you get free admittance to the water park, which has seven thrill rides, including a 62-foot speed slide called Sun Plunge, as well as slightly more tame family enjoyment like the 75-foot long meandering raft ride. Two parks for the price of one and unlimited rides for the whole family!

  1. Wheel Fun Rentals at City Park

Flickr/David Robinson It’s not exactly a water park, but it is a 330-acre park with a spacious lake doling out boat rentals. There are plenty of options to choose from: single and double pedal boats, single and double kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. Choose your ride and go for a glide!

  1. Centennial Center Park

Yelp/Riris M. This fantastic park in Centennial has absolutely everything you and your kiddos need for a day of fun in the sun! (And the best part? It’s FREE)! There’s a fantastic splash park along with a climbing wall, rope jungle gym, swings, sand, grass, sun, and shade! (And it’s FREE)!!!

  1. Pirate’s Cove Family Aquatic Center

Flickr/Cobra K. For a relaxing summer day with great prices and fun for the whole family, go to Pirate’s Cove. There are three water slides, a lazy river, a pirate ship, and a massive dump bucket. Laid back fun for everyone without a huge price tag.

  1. The Splash Water Park

Yelp/Holly C. Another great water park that is cheap and chill is the Splash in Golden. The main leisure pool has tunnel slides and a large dump bucket. There’s also a diving pool, a lap pool, a fountain zone, two larger slides, and a great sand play area. (This is a perfectly relaxed park that’s ideal for kids 12 and under.)
