Missouri makes the perfect movie backdrop due to its varied geographic terrain. You would actually think that more movies would be made here, but maybe the crazy unpredictable weather is what prevents that from happening. - Escape from New York, Chain of Rocks Bridge, St. Louis

Although the movie is called Escape from New York, much of it was actually filmed in East St. Louis. Other locations of note include Union Station and the Fox Theater.
