What better way to celebrate the day after Independence Day (the day you stayed up really late watching fireworks with your family), by waking up super early and heading to a donut shop for a freshly baked donut? Ok, I’m just kidding. You can get some sleep first because some of the donut shops in Indiana have more than just breakfast hours. Furthermore, you could just wait until tomorrow to get up early and enjoy a freshly baked donut. The only question that remains is this – where should you be going for this donut?

1. Square Donuts

This is a donut franchise in Indiana I didn’t know existed until one popped up on West Washington Street in Indianapolis. Turns out that there are several in Richmond, Terre Haute, Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Carmel. This donut shop takes pride in “not cutting corners” with your donuts. Who said all donuts have to be round? You can visit their website to learn more about their exact locations around the state.

2. Jack’s Donuts

Jack’s Donuts is another donut franchise scattered all over the state of Indiana. You can find one in New Castle, Greenfield, Fishers, and Carmel. You can visit their website for more specific locations or to get the link to the Facebook page of the one closest to you to keep up with latest happenings and special deals.

3. Long’s Bakery

4. Dan’s Variety Bakery

Dan’s is the name of a bakery and donut shop found in Kokomo. What’s weird about this bakery is the hours of operation. This bakery opens at 1AM every night and serves their customers until noon. Want freshly baked donuts? Get in line! A line for the delicious pastries this donut shop serves starts forming around midnight.

5. Cresent Donuts

Jack Lyons

Cresent Donuts is located in Bloomington, Indiana. Individuals who have had the pleasure of trying these donuts will tell you it puts the donuts at Long’s Bakery to shame. I’ve never tried them personally, so I’m still a Long’s Bakery fan girl. The folks of Southern Indiana agree this is one of the best donut shops in Indiana.

6. Cornerstone Bakery

Rene Schwietzke

You can find this bakery and donut shop in Greensburg, Indiana. Along with a donut, you can get coffee, milk, a Danish, or some juice. In addition to the mouthwatering donuts, what people really like about this bakery is the prices. You can get an entire dozen of donuts while spending less than $20.

7. Wabash Donut Shoppe

Just as the name implies, you can find this donut store in Wabash, Indiana. Ironically, it’s also located on S Wabash Street. You are not going to find better donuts in (or near) Wabash than what they sell at this donut shop.

8. Deluxe Donuts

Within Anderson, Indiana (and a 30 mile radius from it), you are not going to find better tasting donuts. From their strawberry glazed donuts to their maple glazed donuts, and their coffee glazed donuts, they have a little something for everyone on their menu.

9. Donut Bank

You can find Donut Bank in Evansville, Indiana. Don’t be surprised if you eat so many of their donut holes you end up throwing up. They are THAT good.
