Some things may change, but Buffalo is forever. Whether you’re a die hard lifer or have moved away from home for one reason or another, you’re never really gone from the 716. No matter where life takes you, a piece of your heart will always be in Buffalo…and here’s why:

  1. The people

Roswell Park Cancer Institute - Facebook The City of Good Neighbors is an exceptional bunch. Whether we’re supporting each other through charities or shoveling our neighbor’s driveways, Buffalonians are truly special.

  1. The food

Ted’s Hot Dogs - Facebook Wings, pizza, beef on weck, you name it – our food is the best. If you’ve moved away from home (or even traveled for long periods of time), this is most likely one of the things you’ve realized you miss most about Buffalo.

  1. The sports

Buffalo Bills - Facebook The bond between Bills and Sabres fans and their beloved teams takes a firm hold on our hearts that just cannot be broken. No matter the outcome of the season, we love watching our teams play.

  1. The memories

Forgotten Buffalo - Facebook Whether you reminisce on AM&A’s, the Super Flea, or - more recently - Record Theatre, gems of Buffalo’s past stay in our hearts even long after they’re gone.

  1. The summers

Canalside Buffalo - Facebook It just doesn’t get any better than summer in Buffalo. The fleeting months of summer make us love Buffalo so much, probably because of our winters can feel endless… but the wonderfully warm days are totally worth braving the bitter cold.

  1. Snow Days

Subhash Roy - Flickr Speaking of winter… the snow is actually one reason your heart will remain in Buffalo. Even if you moved away to flee the frozen months, you can’t deny that unexpected snow days (even as an adult!) are amazingly fun.

  1. The shops

Lexington Co-Op - Facebook Our local markets and supermarkets can’t be outdone by other cities. Grocery shopping might be considered a chore elsewhere, but it’s one we never mind doing in Buffalo.

  1. The restaurants

Todd F. - Yelp We’ve already mentioned our fantastic foods, but the restaurants in the 716 are a category of their own! We all have our old (and new) favorites, and life without them just feels wrong.

  1. The festivals

Taste of Buffalo - Facebook What could be better than gathering with fellow Buffalonians to eat good food or celebrate local shops and artisans? Our festivals are some of the best parts of living here, and definitely a big reason our hearts stay here even after we leave.

What are some reasons you absolutely love Buffalo? There are simply too many to list, but we’d love to hear about your favorite things about our great city in the comments below!
