New Jersey is a beautiful state with diverse landscapes. I can’t imagine ever growing tired of the beautiful beaches, tranquil lakes, resplendent mountains or vibrant fall colors! Even still, it’s incredible to see the state from another perspective. These photos prove that New Jersey looks great from every angle! For organizations sake, I’m starting with city views and moving into the more suburban scenery.

  1. Suburbs of NYC

Flickr/Doc Searls This incredible photo offers views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City, Hoboken and Weehawken. Secaucus and Union City can also be seen in the distance.

  1. Downtown Jersey City

Flickr/David Jones The spectacular shot was taken on a helicopter tour of the area. They’re pricey, but definitely a unique experience. You can occasionally find deals as low as $100 for a private tour.

  1. Newark at night

Flickr/ Doc Searls Taken from a plane, you can tell you’re over North Jersey when you start to see lights everywhere. This was snapped shortly before landing in Newark.

  1. East Hanover

Flickr/Novartis AG One of many industrial complexes in the area, this photo highlights the Novartis AG campus.

  1. Readington

Flickr/Josh Madison Ballooning above Readington, near Flemington and Bridgewater.

  1. Suburban Scrawl

Flickr/Rebecca Wilson Formerly farmland, this shot is one of New Jersey’s many planned communities. Housing developments and strip malls are popping up everywhere! What do you think - progress or problematic?

  1. Northvale

Flickr/Doc Searls Enjoy this unique perspective of Lake Tappan with Rivervale Country Club the the left and Old Tappan Golf Course to the right.

  1. Jersey Shore near Highlands

Flickr/Eric Drost What a picturesque view of the Central Jersey shoreline!

  1. Mantoloking

Flickr/U.S. Fish And Wildlife Services Northeast Region This photo of Mantoloking after Hurricane Sandy is difficult to look at, but captures an important moment in New Jersey history.

  1. Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Reserve, Atlantic County

Flickr/U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Northeast Region This beautiful shot highlights just how stunning the 47,000-acre wildlife preserve is.

  1. Edwin B. Forsythe alternate view

Flickr/U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Northeast Region I love this shot! The wildlife preserve is a nice contrast to Atlantic City in the distance.

  1. Cape May National Wildlife Refuge, Cape May Courthouse

Flickr/U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Northeast Region This massive refuge is on the western side of South Jersey, facing Delaware and just moments from Wildwood

Which of these aerial views had the biggest impact on you? I found the photo of Mantoloking to be the most striking, though I loved the wildlife refuge shots as well. Feel free to add your own aerial photos in the comments below.
