Who doesn’t love FREE? I do, so I’m going to bring you at least one list of free things to do in Utah each month. The month of August is jam-packed with summer concerts, festivals and county fairs. Before attending an event listed here, double-check the details — they can change between our publish date and the event.

  1. Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge: Free Films and Guided Tours

USFWS Mountain-Prairie/flickr Enjoy free Nature Film Saturdays in August from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The refuge also offers free guided tours for guests ages 8 and older on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Tours are offered through the end of August, but you must register in advance with Andrea Johnson at 435-734-6426.

Granary Row Street Fest: 350 W. 700 S. Salt Lake City: Live music, food trucks and art. Every Friday and Saturday through August from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m..

Pride Festival, Historic 25th Street in Ogden: August 1st from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Bountiful/Davis SummerFest in Bountiful: Thursday, August 5th through Saturday, August 8th.

Stansbury Days, Stansbury Park: August 14th and 15th.

Sandy Hot Air Balloon Festival, Sandy: August 7th and 8th. Sunrise balloon launches start at 7:00 a.m. both days at Storm Mountain Park; evening festivities and launches begin at 8:00 p.m. in front of Sandy City Hall.

Price International Days, Price: Festival runs from July 30 through August 1st.

Oktoberfest at Snowbird: August 15th, 22nd, and 29th from noon to 6:30 p.m.
