- Western Springs

- Waterloo

- Winfield

- Maryville
Ed/Flickr Maryville is a town on the rise, very much so over the past decade. Still, crime is very low. Your chance of being a victim is less than five in 1000. In addition, you’ll be a member of a very tight-knit community.
- Channahon
katiebordner/Flickr Channahon is an extremely peaceful place to live because of how scenic it is. The absolutely beautiful I&M canal runs through the town. I guess the beauty that abounds make people behave, because crime is almost non-existent.
- Monticello
railsr4me/FLickr Fans of historic places and charming down town areas? Then Monticello is the place for you. Fans of trains, young and old, will love the Monticello Railway Museum. And the crime rate is almost 20 percent lower than the rest of Illinois.
- Homer Glen
Center for Neighborhood/Flickr Homer Glen isn’t that old of a town, but citizens already have a strong sense of community. The fledgling police force has nipped crime in the bud. It’s a wonderful place to star gaze, as there is very little light pollution.
- Palos Hills
