From the majestic redwoods, one of the west coast’s most iconic salmon runs, and California’s largest native tribe, this small town represents the West Coast at its finest. Not to be confused with the Falls in Oregon, the town of Klamath in the far reaches of Northern California brings together the best of the Northwest in an originally Northern California style.

Klamath is located just south of Crescent City and north of nearly everything else in California.

It’s known as one of the towns located in the incredible redwood forests of Northern California. Its location smack dab along the west coast makes it one of the best destinations in Washington, Oregon, AND California to get a real feel for what this place is all about.

The town of Klamath is also the heart of Yurok Country and the home of California’s largest Native American tribe. Spend some time at the Yurok Country Visitor Center, which was built to educate visitors about the thriving and incredible culture of the Yuroks.

The area is also known for its incredible fishing along the Klamath river. Here, a successful group of fishermen and women pose with their bounty at the Kamp Klamath RV Park and Campground. These impressive fish are the Chinook King Salmon that this area is known for.

If you would rather rest your head under a solid roof for the evening, head on over to the history Requa Inn. It’s a lovely slice of Klamath’s culture and history.

The rooms are old fashioned but comfortable, and best of all, they overlook the Klamath River. It’s the best way to have nature at your fingertips without actually sleeping out in a tent or RV.

The Requa Inn is also a great option for dining. Here’s a picture of fresh seafood and herbs, a yummy treat for anyone looking to savor the experience.

Of course, with the Redwood National and State parks located right there, you will never run out of things to do. Here’s a hiker exploring Fern Canyon in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.

Those with mobility challenges or who simply like to ride rather than walk will love the Sky Trail. It’s one of the most appealing and exciting features of the entire Trees of Mystery, a popular stop in the Redwood forests where guests ride a gondola through the tree tops.
