Stonewall Jackson Lake is a beautiful gem tucked away in the mountains of West Virginia. Formed by a flood control dam on the West Fork River, Stonewall Jackson Lake features 82 miles of beautiful shoreline. The lake is bordered by the 18,000-acre Stonewall Jackson Wildlife Management Area and the 2,000-acre Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park.

You can also rent lakeside cabins or stay at a full service campground, but the state park features an impressive lodge, two restaurants, a large marina (with a cruise boat!), and a stunning indoor/outdoor pool and patio area.

The lake is one of the state’s best fisheries and lake access is among the best in the state. The area abounds with wildlife, including deer, heron, wild turkey, fox, and osprey. You will also find an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature golf course, lovely lakeside walking and hiking paths, as well as bike and kayak rentals – there are plenty of ways to pack a ton of activities in your visit to Stonewall Jackson Lake!
