If you’re traveling north on I-15, your first stop is Layton Hills Mall (1201 N. Hill Field Road, Layton)
Layton Hills Mall/Facebook It might seem strange to start this itinerary with a shopping mall, but Layton Hills Mall is supposedly haunted! Many store employees and even shoppers have reported paranormal activity here. Things fall off shelves when no one is near, and some people report strange cold spots throughout the mall. Store employees report mannequins being moved around, and merchandise left in disarray - though the security cameras show no one around. The mall is located right off I-15 at the Hill Field Road Exit.
Ogden’s Historic 25th Street

There is a tunnel system that runs beneath this street, and connects many of the businesses to each other. The tunnels are apparently very haunted. The best way to get down there? Contact a paranormal investigator for a tour.

Google Maps The basement of this shop is reportedly haunted by a child named Sarah. If you bring a toy with you and place it on the floor and say hello, she’s said to move the toy.
Ogden City Cemetery (1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden)

Florence Grange was waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up one dark night, but another car hit and killed her, then drove away. The rumor is that if you park your car facing her gravestone at night, then flash your headlights three times, you’ll see her ghost coming toward you.
Spend the night at Ben Lomond Suites, if you dare (2510 Washington Blvd., Ogden)

The hotel’s elevator is said to be haunted by a worker who fell into the elevator shaft early in its history. The elevator moves by itself from floor to floor, without human intervention. If you want to observe some paranormal activity, try staying in room 1102. A woman on her honeymoon drowned in the bathtub there years ago. Guests report that the bathtub faucet turns on all by itself, and they hear voices and feel cold spots in the room. Later, the woman’s son came to retrieve her things and stayed overnight in room 1101. Distraught over his mother’s death, he committed suicide there. Guests in room 1101 report cold spots and even see an apparition.

Another mischievous ghost rides the elevator up and down without human intervention. He’s also said to have opened a window that no one could easily reach. The window stayed open for weeks, then mysteriously closed on its own.

He’s even been known to order a meal, then disappear into thin air! Staff reports finding all the furniture rearranged when they open up in the morning. Customers report talking to the apparition, assuming that he’s another patron.

Take a stroll along the northern portion of this trail, and you might hear footsteps following you. Turn around…and there’s no one there.
