Bicycling—and more recently mountain biking—is a popular pastime for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying in shape. With Nevada’s mountains, lakes, and truly stunning views, there is no doubt why bicycling has taken off in the state. Here are some of the most beautiful and fun bike trails in all of Nevada.
- Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City
Greg Mazu/Flickr Dubbed an epic ride by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), Bootleg Canyon has more than 35 singletrack miles of both relaxing and technical courses for the cycling novice and pro. This trail is consistently atop all “Best of Mountain Bike Trails” in Nevada.
- Badger Pass, Blue Diamond
Lin F./Yelp Located on the north side of Hwy 160 near Blue Diamond, Badger Pass Loop offers cycling enthusiasts a singletrack route with a slow and steady climb that culminates in a series of fun and technical downhills.
- Flume Trail, Incline Village
Jeff Moser/Flickr Flume Trail offers a relatively easy, singletrack bike trail with a few technical areas; however, perhaps the best aspect of this trail are the gorgeous views overlooking Spooner Lake.
- Tahoe Rim Trail, Lake Tahoe

- Clear Creek Canyon, Carson City

- Carson City to Virginia City Trail

- Bristlecone Loop Trail, Mt. Charleston near Las Vegas

- Railroad Tunnel Trail, Boulder City
Don Barrett/Flickr A fun track for both the views and the history. This trail takes cyclists through five 300’-long, 25’-wide railroad tunnels that were created for the construction of Hoover Dam in 1931. This easy ride with gorgeous views of Lake Mead ends at Hoover Dam.
- Tyrolean Downhill, Incline Village

- Reno Truckee River Ride, Reno

- Cave Lake Trails, Ely

- Dry Pond Loop, Reno

Cycling is not only a great form of exercise but can also be meditative and spiritually relaxing.
