Martin’s Bar-B-Que / Yelp There are a couple locations around the city, each one just as wonderful as the last. The spots emphasis on solid technique and fresh food every single day gets it solidly on our list. Be careful, though - Belmont Boulevard is flooded with all those young folk.

Smokin’ / Yelp Located in the Wedgewood-Houston location, you wouldn’t know this place was here unless you were a local, or someone who was lucky enough to have a local bring ’em. With meat so tender they’ll be fallin’ off the bone, you can’t beat a down and out like this.

  1. Peg Leg Porker

Peg Leg / Yelp Specializing in all your favorite bbq cuts, Peg Leg Porker features fried pies and literal BUCKETS of beer that you can enjoy on the patio in the summa’ time.

Hog / Yelp If you can get over the totally sketch front entryway, you’ll realize that this is seriously some of the best bbq in the city, if not the state. The hole-in-the-wall ambience is only to scare off those who aren’t dedicated to their bbq love.

  1. Jack’s Barbeque

Jack’s / Yelp There are a couple of locations, but Jack’s is old school southern food the way you know it - salty, steamy goodness that makes you want to move to Tennessee. Yeah, we get it. Plus they sell their sauce!

  1. Edley’s Bar-B-Que

Edley’s / Yelp Hello, gorgeous! Edley’s has two great locations on either side of town, and we gave it number one because it truly appeals to everyone. You’ll be comfortable here at all ages, bringing your kids or your parents. The fun atmosphere is definitely worth it!
