Younger children can go trick-or-treating on the main floor of the precinct, while other visitors can take a tour of the basement that’s led by an officer.

The officers take the time to put together the haunted house themselves in an effort to get to know more of the local residents.

Gothamist/YouTube Commanding Officer Frank DiGiacomo has pointed out that nearly everyone who comes to the precinct is there for bad reasons, the haunted house creates a fun (but terrifying) way for locals to come in and get to know the officers in a more relaxed environment.

Like something out of DC Comics, you’ll enter the New York City precinct and find a complete horror show hiding in the basement.

The haunted house takes roughly one month to put together and is free to all visitors!

The officers create the entire haunted house themselves, using their free time and days off to come in and create a noteworthy horror show.

The precinct does their best to change actors every day, giving visitors a unique and different experience for each day that they are open.
