Who doesn’t love a spectacular Fourth of July celebration? Being from Northern California means for quite a lot of us that our blood runs red, white and blue. So, it’s only right that we seek out the best places to throw down a blanket or two and stare up at the night sky –just waiting for an incredible fireworks show. Am I right?
Here’s a list of quite a few that are definitely going to be off the hook this year. Remember, you need to be sitting somewhere before dark to watch the show. So, don’t miss out!
- Napa County Fair, July 4th 9:30pm

Following the MarchFourth Marching Band stage performance on the Grandstand Stage, an acapella performance of the National Anthem by Placido Garcia, the Fireworks Sky Concert will fill the air with sights and sounds
- Cal Expo, July 4th – Doors Open at 5pm but Show is at 9:30pm

flickr/robert couse baker General admission is FREE. Parking is $10 and there are some preferred seating for those who want to spend $10 per person. But, if you want as close to free as you can get – this is the place.
- Lake Oroville, 4th of July - Sundown
Facebook/City of Oroville Rotary This image says it all. Enjoy the best “dam” fireworks show around. Yup. We want to. The time was hard to find, so just get there early. You know fireworks go off around 9 or 9:30pm. Duh!
- Pier 39- Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco, July 4th 9:30pm

- El Dorado County Fair, July 4th at 9:00pm

flickr/epic fireworks The County Fair is the place to be around here. But, if you can’t make it to the fair you can probably find a spot around town to park the car and watch. The great thing about El Dorado County is that there are so many hills to bring the family, park the car and sit and watch!
- Marin County Fair, June 30th thru July 4th at 9:30pm

flickr/forrest tenaka EVERY DAY from 6/30 - 7/4 you can watch a fireworks show shot from the barge on the water. Wow! Being right on the water like this just makes a pyrotechnics show that much more amazing. The other cool thing? If you have little ones afraid of the loud explosions, you can watch from a distance. So incredibly beautiful!
- Redding Freedom Festival, Civic Auditorium, July 4th, 9:00pm Show
