To many Delawareans, the idea of “glamping” would include any campsite in the state where there’s running water and electricity – after all, isn’t the whole point of a camping weekend to be out in the woods, one-on-one with nature?

Well, not me. I’d much prefer my campground to be a full service “glampground”, with all of the amenities I could need! Luckily, there are a few places in Delaware that offer glamping in the best possible locations. There’s Massey’s, the most beautiful campground in Delaware, and then there’s the stunning, secluded Indian River Marina.

The Cottages at Indian River Marina are the ultimate glamping getaway spot.

Delaware State Parks Bring your friends or family for a few days you won’t forget! Each cottage sleeps up to 6 in comfortable beds.

The views from the deck are unbeatable.

Trip Advisor / sandyshoes1313 Wake up early enough to catch a sunrise one day - it’s one of the most spectacular places in Delaware to see the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean.

And you’re just steps from the sand!

Delaware State Parks Walk around the marina and enjoy everything it has to offer, from charter boats to paddle boards, to great kayak drop-in spots. Of course, you’re only a short drive away from the legendary Delaware beaches.

Inside these cabins you’ll find everything you need to complete your stay.

Trip Advisor / Jennifer R. A kitchen fully stocked with everything (except for the food!) will make cooking up your fresh-caught fish a breeze, or you can stick to campfire foods like s’mores and hot dogs.

You’ll have plenty of room to relax in the cottage’s comfortable living rooms.

Trip Advisor / Jennifer R. Get the group together for board games and storytelling, or just hang out and watch a favorite movie. The possibilities at Indian RIver Marina are endless.

My favorite thing to do here is to watch the busy water from the porch.

Of course, the Marina itself is absolutely gorgeous!

And the bridge? Well, it’s kind of legendary.

Flickr / Lee Cannon The Indian River Inlet bridge is a marvel of modern engineering - and many believe it’s actually haunted! The way it lights up at night will be the perfect sight to see as you head in for the evening.

Wait – haunted? Read more on this magnificent bridge here, and add it to your campground story rotation.
