The Inventing Room is probably as close to a real live Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as any of us will ever get…which makes total sense given that the movie was part of the inspiration behind Chef Ian Kleinman’s one-of-a-kind mad scientist culinary creation. What began as a catering business became so wildly popular that Kleinman opened the brick and mortar Dessert Shop in Ballpark last fall and has never looked back. In fact, plans are already in motion to expand halfway across the world to Dubai! As a self-proclaimed savory food lover, I’d take salt over sweet any day, but when it comes to The Inventing Room, there’s no way I’d pass up the opportunity to experience THE most incredibly unique restaurant in Denver!
Facebook/The Inventing Room When Chef Kleinman started his interactive “Food and Entertainment” catering company a few years ago, word of his insanely innovative, novelty food experience spread like (liquid nitrogen) wildfire.

Yelp/The Inventing Room So by popular demand, The Inventing Room’s Dessert and Event Shop opened in October of 2015 in the Ballpark neighborhood at 2020 Lawrence Street. (Just look for the big yellow awning!)
Facebook/The Inventing Room Inside you’ll find a wildly wacky and sensorially stimulating scene right out of Willy Wonka.
Facebook/The Inventing Room Chef Kleinman and his staff use techniques like compression and ingredients like liquid nitrogen to demonstrate the scientific side of cooking, while simultaneously wowing audiences and dazzling your tastebuds!

Facebook/The Inventing Room Or feast on their notoriously delicious Smores Ice Cream Sandwich, which was named one of Denver’s most extreme dishes by Zagat.
Facebook/The Inventing Room (Kleinman says: Is there anything better than toasted marshmallow? Maybe if its squeezed between a double chocolate cookie with graham cracker ice cream.)
Facebook/The Inventing Room Or how about “The Donald” hot chocolate churro ice cream with a gold dusted chocolate chip wall and vanilla bean cotton candy hair. (LOL…I can’t EVEN!)
Facebook/The Inventing Room The chefs really love creating dishes based on their favorite childhood treats, like this Twizzler Space Foam. (Kleinman says: Think frozen meringue that dissovles into smoke when you eat it.)
Facebook/The Inventing Room Another of their newest additions is this Salted Caramel Milkshake with Chocolate Shavings that is nothing short of heavenly!
Yelp/Sally H. How about an Espresso Waffle with Maple Ice Cream?
Facebook/The Inventing Room Or you can stop in for one of their weekly specials, like the Blackberry Chocolate Ice Cream with Nitro Caramel Corn and Dinger Cotton Candy, that they created for the Rockies opening week.
Facebook/The Inventing Room They even had Orange Crush Cotton Candy for the Superbowl! Go Broncos!
Facebook/The Inventing Room One of Chef Kleinman’s most wacky inventions (which just may be the most popular item on the menu) is Really, Really Cold Cheetos. (Kleinman says: It is hard for me to imagine a time before I ate my Cheetos really, really frozen.)
