We don’t want to brag (well, maybe a little), but Washington’s local food scene is phenomenal. And that’s mainly because we have access to such a variety here—farm fresh eggs, fish, shellfish, veggies, fruit and responsibly raised meat can all be easily obtained. For the tastiest seasonal options, your best bet is to hit the Farmers Markets… but for an even more enjoyable experience, you can take the Bow-Edison Food Trail and have access to all those things and more.

The Bow-Edison area is located in Skagit County in Western Washington.

You can’t go wrong with restaurants in this area. They’re amazing.

Cheryl N / Yelp Most of them have menus that are almost entirely local, like Bow’s Rhododendron Cafe (pictured here) and the Farm to Market Bakery.

Both Bow and Edison are agricultural hubs. You’ll find freshly grown produce, unique shops and art galleries in the towns, which are just 2.5 miles apart.

Before you leave, stop for some fried oysters at The Old Edison.
