Most people don’t know you can go whitewater rafting in South Carolina, but it’s true. Head over to Long Creek in western Oconee County for a fun rafting trip everyone in your group will love.

Yelp/Wildwater A company called ‘Wildwater Rafting’ has four different rafting trips you can choose from, including one that includes only Class I and Class II conditions. To help you understand the difference, on a Class I Run you’ll have easy and smooth waters with some light riffles. You’ll probably find Class I is a piece of cake.

TripAdvisor/Morgan E Class II steps up the game a bit, however for a novice it’s still a manageable experience. In Class II conditions you’ll find the water moves much faster, and you’ll likely pass through some maneuverable rapids and wind through some rocky areas.

TripAdvisor/Davs1wrld In every raft, Wildwater Rafting sends an experienced guide with plenty of knowledge about how to best maneuver the day’s conditions and “read” the water.

TripAdvisor/Kam2013 As long as you don’t mind getting wet, this is the perfect trip for you if you’re a beginner.

TripAdvisor/member On this family-friendly trip through Section 3 of the Chattooga River, you get to stop and play for a while.

TripAdvisor/JnLnorman Go ahead, get out and swim. Your life jacket and helmet will be a big help at this point.

TripAdvisor/Kimàmö W The one nice thing about this trip, is you get to choose whether you head a little further downstream and brave a rapid called Bull Sluice. If it hasn’t rained in a while you may find it’s relatively calm - but it’s challenging. Your guide will have a keen sense of the daily conditions on the Chattooga Section 3 as well as in the run called Bull Sluice.
