To let you guys in on a little known secret, my daughter has been hula dancing around our house all week. After watching Hawaiian inspired children’s movies, I’ve been wondering how I could manage to avoid a treacherous flight to paradise all while enjoying some sort of tropical adventure. As luck would have it, New York has saved the day by offering amazing Tiki Tours up north right in our back yard! So if you too have been looking for a way to add some excitement to your summer, you won’t want to miss out on these ever so relaxing tours out on the water.

Bringing you out on Lake George, Tiki Tours can be found right at the local docks in the village.

Jim Duell/Flickr Fitting up to six passengers (or 1,650 pounds of guests), the tours have three boats that can all run at the same time. So if you’re interested in making this a family adventure or just have handfuls of friends that are wanting to take a ride, call ahead to book additional boats for everyone.

Taking you on either 60 or 90 minute tours, people of all ages can enjoy these tropical Tiki Tours!

Tiki Tours/Facebook If you’re picturing this as an excursion that can only be experienced by adults, guess again. The Tiki Tours are open to guests of all ages, although it is required that passengers under the age of 12-years old wear a life vest. Passengers requiring a life vest can either choose to bring their own or use one that’s provided by the tours.

The perfect alternative if you’ve already experienced boat rides in town like the Minne Ha-Ha, Lake George Tiki Tours operate daily through the month of August.

Tiki Tours/Facebook Open every day during the month of August, once September comes the tours will be available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. If you’re interested in taking a tour on a day outside of that schedule, you can call ahead to plan an adventure with the company.

Passengers can soak up the sun while out on the lake or choose to take cover in the shade underneath the tiki’s roof.

Tiki Tours/Facebook If you’re use to taking more strict boat rides, you’ll enjoy how accommodating Lake George Tiki Tours are. Passengers can bring their own fishing poles on board, so long as they bait their own hooks and have a New York State Fishing License if they’re over the age of 16-years old. Another bonus? The tiki has Bluetooth capable stereo systems that you can sync up to your phone to play your own music throughout the ride! Sounds fun, huh?

And if you find yourself feeling hungry, you can have the Tiki boat stop at one of Lake George’s local restaurants to grab food and drinks!

David S/TripAdvisor Those taking a ride on these tiki boats can bring their own food and drinks that can go in the boat’s provided cooler with ice onboard. But if you don’t come equipped with snacks, you can have the Tiki stop at the Lake George Beach Club, Christie’s on the Lake, The Boardwalk Restaurant or Scotty’s Lakeside Resort Beach Bar and Cafe!

So if you’ve yet to take a summer getaway up to the Adirondacks, try enjoying one of these relaxing Tiki Tours out on the water.
