Voravut R./Yelp When I say “you’ll discover the museum” what I really mean to say is, you’ll most likely walk right by it several times before you realize what it is you’re even looking at. The museum was once a freight elevator used in a fabric store, only coming to 6 x 8 feet! When the doors are shut, this place looks like nothing you’d ever give a second glance to. Pictured above you can see the viewing windows on the doors, allowing anyone who walks by to be able to see what’s inside at all times.

Mmuseumm specializes in collecting items that would normally go overlooked, objects you might never think would be apart of a collection of any sort.
Dylan M./Yelp Opening back in 2012, the museum can fit three people inside of the old elevator. Right on the same block you’ll also discover the small space of Mmuseumm 2, the sister museum that opened up just last year. The museum was created by Alex Kalman and Ben and Josh Safdie, with funding by the famous Kate Spade and others from the Spade family.
The museum features rotating collections, you’ll never know exactly what’s waiting for you inside.

If you were to take a visit there today you’d find things like embalming accessories, a collection of suspicious items that have been determined to not be bombs, objects made for the blind and even a collection of perfume bottles that are shaped like bodies. Like I said, you really never know what you’ll find on display here.
Currently, Mmuseumm is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12PM to 6PM.
