I hate to say it, but Georgia is notorious for its bad drivers and forever-present traffic. Maybe it’s the fact that we have so many out-of-towners living here, or maybe it’s just that we are all rushed to get where we’re going. Whatever the case, among all of our traffic and bad driving, these 10 counties are the worst. Here are the top 10 counties in Georgia with the highest number of fatalities as a result of traffic accidents:
- Fulton County
Pam Calvert via Flickr Fulton County is a pretty big county that holds our state capital, Atlanta, and a big portion of Atlanta’s metropolitan area as well. It comes as no surprise that this county is first on our list as it has the worst traffic in all of Georgia. There were 72 automobile fatalities in 2010 and 61 in 2011.
- Dekalb County
Rog Cogswell via Flickr Dekalb County is well known for cities such as Stone Mountain, Decatur and Dunwoody. Dekalb County comes in second on our list with 49 and 51 fatalities in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
- Gwinnett County, GA
