Karin L/Yelp The Sweeney Ridge Trail offers some killer views. This is a a beautiful and challenging hike. You’ll see abandoned buildings from the 1950s Nike missile base, as well as the place where Portola reached San Francisco bay from Europe in 1769.

  1. Lands End Loop Trail - 490 Sea Cliff Avenue, San Francisco, 94121

Briony C/Yelp Start the Lands End Loop Trail at China Beach and either end or go through Sutro Baths. These ruins of a bath are some of the most classic and iconic pieces of San Francisco history. Built in 1896, it was located near the Cliff House, Seal Rock, and Sutro Heights Park. The facility burned down in June 1966 and is now in ruins.

Charles K/Yelp This is an interesting yet challenging hike for different reasons. The Albany Bulb also simply known as The Bulb, is a former landfill largely owned by the City of Albany. The hike length is not too far at 1.3 total miles. Be careful because this hike does attract danger.

Dan F/Yelp This is not as much as a trail, but a short walk to an abandoned ship. The shipwreck behind the grocery store in Inverness is hard to miss and very eye catching. The Point Reyes Shipwreck sits a little ways near a convenience store on main Sir Francis Drake Blvd in Inverness.
