Looking around the campus while you’re there isn’t a bad idea either!
- Under The Sea: Mystic Aquarium
Mystic Aquarium/Facebook Love seals and sea turtles? Then you’ll love spending time in the beautiful Mystic Aquarium, as well as the neighboring area! This place closes at 6, so stay until the end and pick a local place for dinner. I’ll bet all the amazement will have worked up quite an appetite.

This could also be a great spot for an intimate dinner if you didn’t find something you liked in Mystic. But if you’re bringing kids along take advantage of the indoor pool and arcade.

But the best part is that it’s on the national scenic road of Route 169. So you’ll be taking a pretty morning drive to get there before you peruse the gorgeous unique interior of the house. But it doesn’t open until eleven, so sleep in and grab breakfast first.
- Action Packed: Sonny’s Place
Sonny’s Place/Facebook This place in Somers could easily be an all day trip if you wanted. There’s food, mini gold, go karts, an arcade and more! For this trip to work you’d have to pick an activity or two and grab lunch. Or expand the trip an extra day. It is summer after all!
