This stunning park has beautiful views, miles or trails, river access, and provides an opportunity to enjoy tons of outdoor activities. Whether you love to hike, bike, or fish Castlewood is the perfect destination for anyone looking to reconnect with nature.

In the early 1900s, the area now known as Castlewood State Park was popular among St. Louisans looking to party.

The park was acquired in 1974 and officially opened in 1975. There is over 5 acres of land on both sides of the Meramec River.

The hiking at Castlewood is great! There are a lot of stairs to climb and some uneven pathways so these trails are considered ‘moderate’ for skill level.
