They used a starving rooster as their logo because their machines were supposed to be of such high quality, no grain was ever lost to the ground during harvest or processing - leaving the roosters with nothing to eat. Today, The Starving Rooster restaurant has adopted that mascot as their own, but you certainly won’t be left starving here.
Not just the building was reused - the restaurant used as much of the original materials in the interior as well.

I love historic buildings that have been transformed into something that can still be used today. It’s much better than letting the space and materials go to waste, and also keeps the history of the place alive. North Dakota has some very old restaurants that have been eateries since they were built, including the state’s oldest restaurant. Have you been to either of these?
