I can’t speak for everyone, but my family enjoyed taking some kind of small family vacation during the holiday break when we were out of school and my mother had a little extra time off work. With so many great small towns in Indiana, there is no reason why your family vacation has to be expensive. You could just take a holiday vacation to one of these incredible small towns!
Due to popular request by the readers, today I want to take a closer look at a town called Knightstown. According to a recent census, this town has little more than 2,100 people living in it. Now, let’s take a closer look at this lovely town!
- You can stay at the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park.
From the park’s website. The Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is a place a lot of people consider to be a hidden gem in the state of Indiana. It is a beautiful and fun place to spend time with your family (especially if you have children). The physical address is 5964 S. State Road 109. There are two different kinds of cabins you can rent and 125 sites if you prefer to bring your own camper. There is a swimming pool, a game room, two playgrounds, and paddle boat rentals. This park is also home to Bonnieville Gold Camp which is where your children can try to go panning for gold! Neat!
- This is the town where the famous movie “Hoosiers” was filmed!

The gym has retained the same look it had when the movie was filmed more than two decades ago and it has been transformed into a museum and community center. Back in the ’20s, the local schools didn’t have a gym, so this is where all their sporting activities took place.
